Anything that diminishes America's reliance on Chinese manufacturing is a boost to our nation's security. We're already in a proxy war with Russia, sending biliions of dollars of our weaponry to test it against theirs in a third country (as we've done so many times since the Vietnam War). Now with the provocation of the Pelosi visit to Taiwan, we'll be testing our weaponry against China's in yet another third country, AT THE SAME TIME. It's inevitable, we just don't know when. We'll enact sanctions, they'll counter with their own sanctions, and the embers of inflation will explode into a conflagration. Our military stores will be depleted as we send more and more equipment to these doomed countries, making us less capable to respond to direct threats. And it won't be just America that suffers the consequences of endless conflict.

China is not our friend, it is a supplier and a competitor, and there are currently no holds barred in that relationship. We just don't know at this juncture whether we need them more than they need us or vice-versa.
