Twitter's last security chief blasts service over 'grossly negligent' security

I read the entire story when it broke. I knew Twitter was not deleting users' information, as required by a 2010 consent decree, when they leave the platform. I knew they intentionally allowed uncontrolled access to modify critical control systems to virtually all their engineers with no coordination, oversight or accountability. I did NOT know they had a Saudi spy on the payroll, and may still have many more foreign moles working there on behalf of enemy states. I knew they allowed bots on the platform, as long as they didn't violate loose company restrictions. I knew Twitter still relies on outdated servers, and insecure software that is vulnerable to exploits, and their "solution" is to not worry about it until a data center goes down, or malware disables them completely, as has happened more than once already.

Couple related things I know. The Musk buyout will never happen now. Twitter will be the subject of a new House or Senate committee hearing, and probably an investigation by the SEC or FTC. Twitter stock is already reacting as you'd expect this morning.

One thing I'd guess: the company's future is in serious doubt.
