Disaster drama "Five Days at Memorial" and dark comedy "Bad Sisters" are both coming to Apple TV+ in mid-August.
"Five Days at Memorial," the eight-episode series based on events of Hurricane Katrina, will focus on a New Orleans hospital following the disaster. Apple announced that it will debut August 12 with the first three episodes, followed by a weekly schedule that premieres one new episode each.
"Bad Sisters" is a ten-episode comedy series starring Sharon Horgan of "Catastrophe" and "Shining Vale." Set in Ireland, the Garvey sisters will try to keep their pledge in protecting one another as they process the early deaths of their parents.
The show will premiere August 14 with the first two episodes of the series. The final eight episodes will arrive individually every Friday thereafter.
Apple has issued a flurry of updates for its streaming service this week. On Monday it was revealed the first season of the series "For All Mankind" will be free to watch for a limited time. Tuesday saw the announcement of the Apple TV app being the new home for all matches of Major League Soccer beginning 2023.
