I have a few AirTags and find them relatively useful. I used one recently to track luggage and mentioned it to a friend. He used it to track a car seat he brought on vacation but realized it had a nice side use: he gets an alert when he leaves his AirTag “behind” in the car. Turns out it’s a nice reminder that he may have brought his child along. He hasn’t forgotten his kid in the car but that alert could be a lifesaver in that sort of a situation.
Can AirTags be used in a way they weren’t intended? Sure and many things can be. I have hammers at home that I use for things you would expect, like driving or removing nails. I have never used one to hijack a plane, though.
