I'm never going to use it 10-hours straight. I'd be hard pressed to use it 10 hours over a weekend, especially without access to a charger. Also, in case of battery death emergency, you can always just plug it into the iPad or a battery pack and keep playing.
I don't see battery life as something I need to concern myself with for things like controllers. As long as it's more than I can use in a single playing session, I'm happy.
