Beats Solo Buds worn by Naomi Osaka
Apple subsidiary Beats by Dre will be releasing its Beats Solo Buds on June 20, with one color exclusive to Apple and Target.
Introduced in April, the Beats Solo Buds are wireless earbuds with a highly compact charging case. While release timing wasn't nailed down at launch, Beats has now confirmed when they will be available.
Starting from June 18 at 7 a.m. Pacific, 10 a.m. Eastern, customers can preorder the Beats Solo Buds from Apple's website and authorized resellers. Shipments will start to arrive with customers, and at Apple Stores and other retailers, from June 20.
While Matte Black, Storm Gray, and Transparent Red will be available from all retailers, one will be more limited. In the U.S. customers will have to order the Arctic Purple colorway via Apple and Target's websites, and in their stores.
The Beats Solo Buds are made with a custom acoustic architecture that features nozzles and laser-cut vents to relieve ear pressure. Each earbud has dual-layer transducers to minimize micro-distortions across the frequency curve.
Equipped with the smallest case in the Beats range, the case itself doesn't have a battery but does facilitate charging. Even so, Beats has managed to squeeze in up to 18 hours of battery life into the earbuds from a single charge.
The Beats Solo Buds are priced at $79.99.
