HomeKit Insider

On this week's episode of the HomeKit Insider podcast, your hosts break down the leaked Eve AirPlay 2 adapter, cover the launch of Nanoleaf's 4D lighting kit, and more!

Soon after Eve's acquisition, the smart home purveryor is set to launch its latest product — an AirPlay 2 audio adapter. The unannounced product showed up early on the FCC database revealing the side and outputs of this box.

There's no official word on a release, but we can assume how the audio adapter will work as there are others already on the market. The peripheral should be able to connect digital and analog speakers to receive audio sent wirelessly from any Apple device, through AirPlay, similar to how the newest AirPort Express works after its last update.

There were a few official product releases this week worth discussing. Nanoleaf announced availability of its previously-announced 4D lighting system to surround your TV or monitor.

Then, TP-Link released its new Matter lineup, including wall switches that can be controlled from almost any ecosystem — including Apple Home.

Outside of the news, Stephen still struggles to update his Apple TV 4K to tvOS 17. But, he does provide a quick tip to restart your Siri Remote.
