"Hot Wheels: Rift Rally" is an upcoming iPhone mixed-reality game that transforms physical spaces into digital racetracks for a remote-controlled car.
The game has physical "gates" or arches that gamers place onto the floor in their home to build a race track. They then race the Chameleon RC car using an iPhone or PlayStation controller. The companion app overlays digital elements onto the environment on the screen as the car moves around.
The Chameleon RC car can be digitally transformed into over 140 vehicle configurations, including iconic models such as "Twin Mill," "Bone Shaker," "Gotta Go," and "Mach Speeder."
In Campaign mode, players set up Rift Gates to create a mixed-reality track and explore different maps with multiple challenges and races to complete. Then, in Stunt mode, players drive and stunt the Chameleon without gates as they chain together drifts, wheelies, and burnouts to hit high scores and earn rewards.
