Thanks for the discussion about the new AppleTV box and HDR10+. It was very helpful.
I do have one question for clarification, though. Per your discussion, HDR10+ and DolbyVision both do the by-scene adjustments in light levels, with DolbyVision being slightly better and proprietary but HDR10+ being almost as good. You also noted that Samsung TVs support HDR10+, but not DolbyVIsion.
So here's the question. If you get the new ATV box that supports HDR10+ and you connect it to a Samsung TV that also supports HDR10+ (but not DolbyVIsion), what happens with DolbyVIsion content? Does the ATV box convert the DolbyVision enhancements to HDR10+ and send that to the SamsungTV, or is it all just downgraded to HDR10 with out the plus enhancements? If it's the former, that would make the case for SamsungTV owners to upgrade to the new ATV device, but if it's the latter, not so much.
