Apple could release a quick-fix update similar to the iOS 16.01 update it released for iPhone 14. Otherwise, users will have to wait until watchOS 9.1 to become available later in the fall, which is expected alongside iPadOS 16.1 after a potential October event.Do we know for certain that it's an Apple bug? App developers often implement things in very hackish ways which make assumptions about how things work "under the hood". Then they're surprised when those assumptions break. At which point they'll often blame others when, in fact, the real fix is to implement it in a way which doesn't make such assumptions (use the system APIs as designed, rather than hacking them to work the way you think they should work).
I'm not saying that's the case here, but I've seen enough terrible code on GitHub & StackOverflow to know that there are a lot of confused developers out there. And yes, as @jdgaz said, this is exactly the reason why Apple gives out pre-release versions of their OSes.
