One of those Apple 1’s could be right up there with the printing press in historical importance for giving power to the people. The printing press gave power to the masses by allowing them to read and understand the world, not rely on what their rulers and priests told them. The personal computer did the same in the twentieth century by giving ordinary people access to information that had been only available in the realm of the academics and their “big iron” mainframes.
